I completed the programme a few weeks ago and though I haven't been the best at sticking to running three times a week (hot weather and a walking holiday don't help with motivation) I have still gone out! Therfore I think this is something I will stick at and so I should get some better trainers.. I've had my current ones for 8ish years and they probably aren't the best for me.. Does anyone have any advice over what shops to go to, how to prepare for shopping etc? The thought of gait analysis terrifies me slightly as well but I know it's the best way to get a good fit.. I'm based in North Yorkshire so will have to make a day of it as big shops around here are sparse. Any advice appreciated..
Thanks in advance

Not sure where you are in North Yorkshire but I got my gait analysis done in Darlington - they were pretty good. Advised me on a few different trainers but no hard sell.
Gait analysis definitely. Go to a runners shop. Don't worry about it, I'm sure that they have seen all sorts of runners in the past, I doubt that they get many Olympic athletes in there, so you will probably be kinda average to them. Please don't let yourself feel intimidated, you are a runner and have every right to be in that shop. Consider it a treat.
I don't know any shops to suggest, but if I were you I would try to google local shops and look for reviews.
You are going to run on a treadmill, so dress appropriately. Take your old runners with you, they will look to see how they have worn on the soles.
Ask loads of questions. Enjoy the experience, you deserve it.
