W7R2: I’m a bad bad boy

I did the second run of week two tonight and it was a stonker! Weather wasn’t too hot and I was in a good mood after getting a bunch of stressful work related stuff wrapped up and done with today.

I ran my usual route along the river but for some reason was able to push myself to run faster than before. A couple of time I found myself running a little low on air but every time that happened I slowed a little until I recovered and then picked up the pace again. You can see on the map that the only time I slowed into the “red zone” was when crossing roads (the bane of running in a city!)

I made it through the full 25 minutes but I didn’t feel “done” and decided to keep it going with the intention in my head being to see if I could keep going to 5km or 30 minutes so I ran through the cool down walk and made it to the 30 minute mark. Sadly I was a little off the pace and only made it as far as 4.67km.

Still - that puts me at a 6’29” pace, which with a bit of tweaking I think I might be able to get to doing 5km in 30 minutes! (Also! I can run for 30 minutes! How awesome is that?).

I’m super chuffed with tonight’s achievement and can’t wait for my next run!
