After my funny turn and aborted run on Wednesday, I had a rest day and tried again today. I managed 4K quite comfortably at 7.5km/h which is pretty much my 10k pace 😁 In retrospect I think I had been ‘glutened’ by the work’s Christmas lunch despite emailing ahead and making it clear on the day 😏. I’ve had gut pain for the last couple of days and a close relationship with my loo 😂. I can never run when I’m in ‘digestive distress’. I can’t eat too much or too close to running and can’t eat for a while when I come back. So I think this was the reason for my funny turn on Wednesday.

I chose the treadmill today because of the icy pavements and in case ‘it’ happened again, but I’m looking forward to getting out in the real world next week when it’s a bit milder, and running my usual 5k route. Then I’ll feel like I’m really ‘back’. I could have done more today but I’ve got to save some of my energy reserves to take my elderly mum Christmas shopping 🥵😂

Oh gosh... that is a real pain...literally! My daughter has always avoided works 'dos' for the same reason. Since the pandemic they work from home so she does not have to make excuses !
