I am in my mid fifties and one year today I started C25K best thing I have ever done , 1 year later 2 stone 5 lbs lighter and 2-3 dress sizes smaller - all because of a terrible photo - if I can do this anyone can , before I started this I could not run to the first lamp post - on Week 1 run 3 someone actually stopped to ask if I needed help - now I run at least 3 times a week for 4-5k and feel amazing . Anyone starting this do not give up - it may have taken me a year to get to where I want to be but it is so worth it.
Anniversary: I am in my mid fifties and one year... - Couch to 5K
Anniversary

Aah...lovely happy picture.
Happy Runniversary Heartlesstroll😊... regular running has the knock on effect of helping you choose healthier options, and you look amazing on it...
Happy running😊x
Hi MsFickle what a fantastic achievement, as others have said, sharing your story will no doubt be inspirational to others who are not yet at the same stage as you, especially as many posters say they want to lose weight but don't see that in the first few weeks, and very brave of you to share both photos 👏👏👏
I am so chuffed with myself as I never stick at anything for long especially if I am not seeing instant results ( I have started Weight Watchers and Slimming World numerous times) it wasn't easy and I got very fed up and disheartened initially as the weight just would not move in fact I gained - I remember stepping on my scales and feeling close to tears a lot of the time - but my clothes were looser and my body shape changed so I stuck at it - I am still a very slow jogger but I love being out in the fresh air and having time for me- If anyone is out there struggling persevere as the results you wish for will happen
Perhaps the most unexpected benefit of the programme is the improvement in mental resilience, like you I have previously found diets hard to stick to but started dieting at the same time as C25K at the beginning of April so far stuck to it and lost about a stone ad well as seeing other improvements, as you say, stick with it, it will work!
You look fabulous HLT. So glad you are still enjoying your running 🏃🏻♀️
Thank you I am loving it more than ever
Be proud. As I am sure your family are very proud.
We exist to connect , and running helps us to do this.
If you have never believed in magic, this novice says, running in my 7 month now, this running malarkey and this forum is surely magic.
Enjoy it all.💥🏃♀️💥
Well done, that's a fantastic achievement in a short time. Looking great too🤩🤩
👏👏👏👏
You look fantastic. What have been the secrets of the weight loss?
Thank you The weight loss secret is joining --pinchofnom.com - slimming world recipes & inspiration on face book - the recipes are awesome and there is always someone to ask advice - I have tried SW and WW in the past but if I don't see quick results I give up - I now realise it is a lifestyle change I needed not a quick solution - I still ate out and I still had chocolate and alcohol just not regularly - as well as following the C25K which I still use on every run I need Jo Whiley's encouragement. Hope that helps

You’re looking great heartlesstroll and I bet you are feeling better for it too. An inspiration to keep going for many of us. I am glad to see the reappearance of a waist after 3 months but am hoping to get out of the overweight zone on the nhs bmi calculator.
Thank you that was my first aim to get out the overweight zone, I set very small steps for myself that was achievable You can do this

Awwww thank you - I am pleased I have reached this far it hasn't always been easy and I know I couldn't have achieved without the lovely people and support on here - once I graduated I tried a couple of independent runs but I didn't enjoy them, I love the app and the structure, I am enjoying the running - hopefully everyone on here will enjoy their own journey just as much - it's not a race - it's a lifestyle change to be enjoyed at your own pace 😀
