Hi,

I am in week 8 round 2 and up to this point I’ve been doing really well. However yesterday I had to stop my run halfway through as I had pain in my knee & in my heel. I’ve put on a knee support & taken painkillers but neither has helped much. Any suggestions please? This is my first post but I’ve been lurking since I started 😀 it’s been really helpful reading what everyone else has posted. Thankyou.

Hi,

There's a bit in the FAQ about "runner's first aid" with some general info. But beyond that if you really have pain it's best to get checked out by a professional who can actually see you in person ... The one thing for sure is absolutely not to run until you are better - do not use painkillers to mask the pain and run through it :(

Loads of people have all sorts of injuries and issues and come back just fine with the right care :)

When you come back, take it gently, make sure you have the right shoes (again there's advice and a whole FAQ just about shoes :) ).

Hi

I am at the same point in the program, are you running on hard ground?

Even grassed areas are extremely firm at the moment and it does cause a few issues. I try to leave at least 2 days between runs in the current weather, have found it helps with recovery.
