After the blip of week 7 turning into a month, time to get back into regular running. Week 8 beckoned, and back to the routine of bargaining with the joints and compiling a metal playlist. My knee couldn’t believe I had the audacity to run more than once in 2 weeks... but deals were done and all grudgingly accepted.
I slowed down to ensure I had the energy to do 28 minutes, and on this run I learned 4 things.
1. Cows are great to run past, but remember to look where you put your feet.
2. “Death to all but metal” by Steel Panther is spot on tempo for running, complete with air drumming for added aerobic activity.
3. I actually enjoy running. I know. Me. Couldn’t run a bath at the beginning of the year.
4. I think I’m actually going finish this challenge.
I do have one question though. Where the hell did Michael Johnson go? He gave me a 5 minute update, then halfway, then nothing for another 12 minutes. Where’s he going? Sauntering back to the air conditioned limo with ice cool beers and a carton of magnums no doubt.
But good to get the mojo back. Thanks to my now graduated running mates for the pep and support, I’ll see you in a couple of weeks 😁
