That’s my next run 😬
Did you warm up and cool down properly? I know people get lots of different aches and pains from there runs. Don’t over do it the next few days and don’t do your next run till you’re hip is feeling better.
The next run is broken up into 5 8 5 min runs so if it because you ran for to long at least it’s broken up again next time.
Hope alls ok soon and good luck with your next run.
There is no "normal" in respect of pain after a W5R3 workout.
Some people have aches and pains from the outset of C25k, which hopefully ease. Others, like you, hit another threshold before the aches set in. It may be something that passes, but it is your body telling you that you are asking more of it than it is used to and if it persists, get checked out.
Do check out the links in the guide to the plan on runner's first aid.
It may be your shoes. I always recommend that anyone heading into the longer runs in the final weeks of the plan really needs to be wearing proper running shoes, fitted after a gait analysis done at a specialist running shop.
I hope it clears up.
Thank you at the beginning I had a few aches but nothing to complain about but today just after 12 mins of running my hip became painful I was at the end running with a limp I’m going searching the web today for a new pair of trainers as you say above. This am The hip is still sore but not as bad as yesterday . But then I did take tablets and rubbed cream in. Fingers crossed for next run but I may have to have a extra day of rest.
Please do not just search the internet for trainers. if you have an issue, of which pain in one hip might be a symptom, then you need to understand what it is and make sure that any footwear you buy is going to be appropriate, which is why I recommend the gait analysis. This post about buying shoes may help healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Please, as has been said before, get to a proper running shop and have your gait analysed. Had problems with my knees that I had to rest for a week. Got my gait analysed and now have proper running shoes. What a difference they’ve made!!! Minimal knee pain now, they were worth every penny 😁
My hip hurt after my first run and since then I do lots of stretches when I get home. Since then I’ve had no issues with aches and pains so it might be worth building that into your routine.
Gotta add to the advice just in case - don't use painkillers to mask the pain and run through it, the pain tells you something needs attention. Follow IannodaTruffe 's advice - he's not a mentor on this forum for nothing! Hoping to read soon that you've got it sorted while you're resting the hip, read the post about shoes and also this healthunlocked.com/couchto5... if you haven't already!
I had bad pain in my hip after my runs, it has however disappeared, think if u just keep stretching it out ur body does adjust .
