Week 4 run2 woes...

I've just found out the folly of starting my run by attacking an incline. The logic was that if I go uphill first, I can have an easy time of it for the rest of the run. Oooh, no I shouldn't have! I nearly gassed on the next run, and then struggles through the rest of the entire run. I'm gonna have to some serious thinking about my route for the run 3.

Well done for completing. Slow down. Especially up hill. Better, avoid hills! My running mantra is Low and Slow!

I'm actually now thing that the hill might stand me in good stead for next week. If I push myself hard on Monday, I might feel better next week if I change my route to exclude the hill for the following week. I've always believed that if I work hard, i'll reap the rewards afterwards. Even if I hate hills now.

Make life easier for yourself. Go slowly ! No hurry is there 🤷‍♀️

You can tackle hills when it’s cooler, or when you’ve graduated. It’s so hot though that any exertion is going to exhausting

I learnt that lesson the hard way too with the same logic! Then I did it again last week. I've now graduated so here I am thinking I can do hills. I thought it was flat after the hill, but no...a km long incline 😩😩😩😩

Hills are great but don't be too eager at this early stage...best just heading out and keeping it slow and steady and simple:) Well done you though:)

Thanks everyone. 👍 I am a glutton for punishment though, and looking back... I feel proud I did it.

Can I make the case for hills? No, probably not. I'll go away.

For the time being, just stay on the level. Hills are brilliant. But they'll still be there when you're ready for them.

Come back in a few weeks time and we'll talk hills :-)
