Starting to think a half marathon might not be a crazy idea...

Today I accidentally did 16k in one go. You know, totally by accident, not at all because my Zombies, Run app decided to reboot itself and lost all the previous data meaning I'd have to start again from scratch when I promised myself a nice easy 8k walk after work tonight! Grr!

Feeling disheartened but determined to get back all the progress I'd lost, I got home, got changed and, after a brief fight with my new running top which did NOT want to be worn, I tossed it aside in favour of a less pretty but more straightforward tee-shirt, fired up the music and headed off.

The first 5 was easy, 8k was alright, 10k I was starting to feel it in my legs and had to keep pausing the app so that I could sit down and let my legs and spine rest, 11-14k I had to really push and only the realisation that the only way I'd actually get home was to keep walking kept me going.

15k is where MrPsycho phoned to ask where the hell was I? he'd just got home and was worried because I wasn't there, I told him I'd be back ASAP as I was just coming past the sub-station up the road.

The way back did give me my 16k (btw, we found Doc Myers girlfriend, Paula, now we need to find a way out of the Jeffro Complex without being seen and possibly getting Paula out of there without dying!)

I've done just over 16k in just over 3 hours, walking most of it, which I think is pretty good, also shaved 9 minutes off my time for a 10k (2hrs 10mins down to 2hrs 1min) I'm hot, tired and bathed and my feet are actually throbbing but, despite it all....I can't wait to be able to say I've actually done 20k and prove it.

Anyway, tomorrow's Weigh-Day, hopefully I'll have lost at least a bit thanks to today's efforts

Take care

Marvellous. 16K is awesome. Doing 16K because you want to get your videogame back on track is borderline loopy :-)

Take care of those tootsies. Lots of walking for you so your legs don't seize up tho. Cos the Zombies will come and eat ya!!

I soaked and massaged my legs when I got home, then did a couple of stretches before I collapsed on the bed (also had MrPsycho rub my feet for a little bit)

But I'm raring to finish the last 4k. Then I'm going to take a very well deserved rest day where I spend it hanging out with a friend and drinking coffee

Wow, that's fantastic. It's amazing how you can accidentally run so far. I had one of those moments a couple of weeks ago when I accidentally ran a half marathon, when my target was 17km. So if I can do it I'm sure you can too.

Happy running.
