It has been a while since I was on here ... family and health issues got in the way .... BUT
I just ran my first half marathon yesterday. 3:03:17 was my time ... not quite under 3 hours as I had hoped. Lesson learned: be careful what you eat the day before a big run!
Here is the point, though, especially to all of you who are just starting out: last August when I did my first ever C25K walk/run I could barely make the minute of running without coughing and spluttering to a halt. But by November I graduated and moved onto B210K. And now, just 9 months later, I managed to go a full 21.1 kilometres without dying! I had to walk some of it, especially around the 7, 14 and 18km marks, but the point is I finished!
So if you are on your first week, or even contemplating your first ever run, don't be discouraged when it gets hard. Follow the plan religiously, repeat runs as necessary, remember you are doing this for yourself, don't dwell on the inevitable setbacks, and above all, enjoy it!

Congratulations! I can't imagine I will ever get there. Just finished W1R3 and come to Blog to find some inspiration - which you have given me. Thank you! Enjoy the satisfaction of your great achievement!
Brilliant; very well done. I did my longest-ever run this morning (14K) so I'm edging towards HM distance. Before C25K I hadn't run since school (46 years previously!) but now I'm a runner.
