But I went to the Rolling Stones last night and didn’t go to bed till gone 1am. Normally I run at 5am and get it out the way, which I still probably could have done, but I feel like I drank a little too much (although I’m not hungover!) and was obviously tired too.
From all the walking I ended up doing last night I feel like I’ve done something to my heel (blistered probably).
I was going to run this evening - or should I leave it till tomorrow?

I am so glad you enjoyed the Rolling Stones Concert, I wonder if Mike Jagger runs a 5k, with the energy he has I bet he could run a marathon without any bother at all, yes I think you should take a day off from your C25K training.
Ha yeah was good! I was definitely one of the youngest there (I’m 23 😳) and didn’t know them all but still thought it was great 😄 will see how I’m feeling later
Most common causes of shin splints are running with your foot landing too far out in front of your body, (try to keep it under your body weight by shortening your stride) and poor quality footwear. I had them really bad till I had my gait analysed and fitted with appropriate shoes.
Yeah I’m definitely not having my foot in front of my body. It might possibly be my trainers but usually they’re really comfy and the best trainers I’ve owned see how I go next week and if it’s still bad maybe look at gait analysis. Thanks!
You can try elevating your legs and putting ice on the shins as soon as you get back from the run and ibruprofen or voltarol, but it only takes the edge off. I found mine worse at the start of the run, easing the longer I went, but fortunately not getting them any more. 🤞🏻
Just had a look and apparently having feet that roll inwards (which I do) May make it more likely and running on hard or uneven surfaces (which again I have been doing). Gah!
Ha, me too on both counts. My right rolls in more than my left and I knackered my knee running off road when I first started. I stick to paths now. Round here they’re slightly less uneven 🙂
I know a lot of people prefer running on grass, but round me it’s not even enough to run on. I usually end up hurting my ankles. If you have a nice flat park you could try there?
