So each run I’ve struggled, I’ve listened to music, I’ve listened to podcasts, I’ve taken in what’s around me. I’ve looked for wild life, appreciated the trees and the breeze off the river. But nothing has taken my mind off the struggle of completing each run.
So today I thought I’d try harking back to my school days and revisit David Copperfield, which I did for O Level (yes O Level and yes that’s how old I am 😂).
I downloaded the audio book and off I went. It was fab!! Each time Jo told me how far I had gone I was surprised. The interruption made me jump so absorbed was I in the book.
Now I’m looking forward to my next run to continue the book which I am saving just for running.
Whatever gets you through eh?! 👍😂

I listen to novels when I run too. They pass the time and as runs get longer, stopped me from being bored. I am busy and have little time to read for pleasure so this is also multitasking. Som times it’s the desire to hear the next instalment that propels me out the door.
One word of caution though, the spoken word does little to help with speed in my experience. Banging tunes are better for pace imho
I’ve just got the audible app on my phone. I got the first 3 months free trial. My job is driving too so they’re great for that. There’s a few free books and sale books and lots of podcasts on their website too.
