Does anyone else struggle with breathing? I just can’t seem to find a natural rhythm for breathing when running! Yesterday I did week 3 run 1 and really struggled for the 3 min run (I know I am so unfit and have never really been a runner). Any tips will be gratefully received.

Slow right down and you will find a natural pattern will develop. I really struggled with that too

If you're alive you can breathe. Stick with what you know for the time being. Lots of people have had issues with the "breathing lesson" that comes early on in the programme. Most have ignored it. As you get aerobically fitter (which happens relatively fast) you can work out your breathing then.

And top tip: if you're really really aware of your breathing (i.e. panting) then you're probably going too fast. Slow it down a bit. Slow and Steady wins the race. Tho it's not a race. And we're all winners... :-)

Thanks, I will slow the pace down later when I go out and see if that works!

I found this tricky at first and it seemed to work itself out. I found the trick is to not think about it and I always breathe through my mouth and nose!

I would suggest slowing down your run, it maybe easier to find your breathing rhythm at a slower pace... it will come 😊

Hi I was the same I've found that slowing down has really helped me. Counted 4 steps for breath in then 4 steps per breath out as suggested on the app and also the tip about less bounce when running and using less energy helped too. But deffo the slower pace. I'm only on w3r3 tomorrow but I had so much puff left after r2 on Monday I carried on running on the last 3 min run and lasted 11 mins. Felt great after. Good luck x
