I may not be quick. It may not look pretty. The BMI chart taunts me with chants of obese. But at least I'm out there. Giving it a go. (I'm just big boned π)
I'm proud of that. You lot should be too.
Though most of you are probably quicker and prettier than me π
And today it happened. It all worked properly. My body understood what to do without screaming back in complaint. No longer forcing one foot in front of the other, but the ground gliding past beneath me. Running felt possible.
Two days ago I tried to pick up the pace a little and, whilst laughably slow for many, for me, I did my best speed for 28 mins yet. (No I'm not telling you the pace!)
Today, in honour of @oldfloss I decided that time/distance was the target not speed. Slow and steady. And my body just knew how to do that. My subconscious choosing the pace. Accurately a little slower than previously. And it was ideal.
My first ever non stop 5k of non stop running in 35 minutes!! πππ
(I wrote 'non stop' twice there. That must be how amazed I am!)
And whilst tiring, not killing!!
So, it does what it says on the tin.
Couch to 5k. Done!
Graduation week coming up. Now I know I can do itπ
It will feel like the final day of the Tour De France when you can cruise to the finish line without being beaten up by your own mind and body.
The only irritation is that ASBO, the recalcitrant Border Collie, ran with me and he managed just fine. Barely short of breath and he didn't even bother with the first 7 weeks! Git.
Oh by the way...I had no alcohol again yesterday. Coincidence?
Happy gliding!
