I think I have caught the running bug! I dreaded this run - 8-5-8 - I convinced myself that there was no way I could do it. I told my husband this morning over our 6am coffee that I just wasn't feeling it. After enduring his Army Warrant Officer glare, I duly set off. Maybe because it was cooler this morning, or maybe because I am actually progressing, but I found this run to be my best yet.
It may have helped that Bruno Mars was letting me know that 'girl you're amazing' half way through the first run. I was running slightly down hill, and I must admit, I was feeling pretty amazing at that point. During my 5 minute walk, the Eurythmics were 'right by my side' , and just toward the end of the second run Eminem was instructing me to 'lose myself in the music'. By the time the lovely Laura let me know there were only 60 seconds left, I was running faster and smiling like a maniac! I'm sure the early morning dog walkers must have thought I was mad.
Anyway, I'm not as scared of the final week 5 run now, I'm sure I can crack it. Its only 20 minutes out of my life! I will just keep plodding on slowly and surely, and hopefully start getting a little bit faster in the next few weeks.
Keep enjoying the runs folks
