Week 7, run 2 - Achilles pain!!

I completed week 7, run 2 today and what started as a niggling in my Achilles has turned in to a pretty bad pain. I don't get it once I have warmed up and am running, but during the day it is very sensitive and painful. Any one had this before? Any tips other than just plain old rest?!?

Rest!!! I irritated mine back in the fall and it was terrible.

The three things I did were:

1. REST

2. Saw a chiropractor who did an adjustment and soft tissue mobilization. I was also shown excercises to do for strengthening the tendon - this hurt but helped tremendously. It's not for everyone.

3. Got fitted for appropriate shoes at a running store

It still took a good month to start building back up, but it really isn't an injury you want to mess around with.

Not what you're looking for?
