W5R2 completed. Didnt think I could run for 8mins straight 😁

Well just over 6 weeks ago I started this journey. I work varying shifts and have two young kids so complete the runs when I can and not always every other day.

However after a year off any type of exercise due to injuries I wanted to better myself and prepare myself for my works fitness bleep test.

So i heard about this App and didnt believe it could help me but I thought I would give it a go.

W1R1 I could have died after 60 seconds of running. But today I have complete W5R2 and have surprised myself that I have just run two lots of 8mins, how did that happen?

I ran it alongside my samsung running app and it is saying that at the pace I am currently going (including walks) I will be completing the 5K in 33minutes.

Will see how it goes with the 20minute run on Friday W5R3 to see if my pace drops.

Looking forward to the challenge now.

Brilliant Polly!! Top tip for your next outing? Completely forget about pace. Just take it nice and slow. Think of it as a 20min walk with a different action.

You can always sprint at the end if you feel like it!! 😁

Dont think I will be sprinting any where after a 20min slog sweat fest. Unless there is a pint of cider at the end waiting for me ha ha.

Plus cake.

But think about R2. Two 8 mins runs and a brisk 5 min walk between. 21 mins constant activity.

R3 is only 20mins. Unless you had a lie down or stopped for a swift half on R2 you've already done R3.

Just a bit of biomechanics change. And that's not a problem if you take it slow.

Slow is your friend!!!
