Just got back from week 2 run 1, and shockingly I feel amazing, thought it was going to be so much harder running those extra 30 seconds. A few things that helped me along the way... One being that I discovered the C25K app which lets you play your own music and trainer talks over it, another thing is being able to change the trainer in your ear, no offence to the Laura woman but Jo Whiley is so much better, she talks more and it takes your mind off running, and the third is I was running way too fast in week one. Ive slowed down loads and it really helped, don’t try to do too much too soon!!
I put this run off for 2 days already because of how much I was dreading it, work and the weather being my rather crappy excuses but never the less I’ve done it now and don’t know what I was scared of. Listening to my own music really helped instead of focusing on how tired I was I was focusing on the lyrics to my fave playlist, also something that Jo Whiley said in the podcast is if you tell yourself that you love running it helps, I sorta laughed to start with because I hate running and didn’t think that something as simple as say I love it would help but OMG!! It really does, in between every breath I took ( every couple of strides) I would tell my self I love running and by the end of the ninety seconds I really believed it. So there’s a top tip for you all (not taking credit haha)
Anyway that’s week 2 run 1 completed and I’m super happy, best of luck to anyone running tonight( may look cool but still boiling) onto the next for me, actually looking forward to Thursday for my next run 😄 xxx
