New sneakers gave me wings...

...not. LOL my new sneaks (Adidas airbounce) came in the mail. Very stealthy. Somewhat intimidating, as one equates Adidas with serious exercise people, those who talk knowingly in arcane terms about splits and BP’s and endorphins.

But, I’ve committed to this endeavor, so I’ve worn my beauteous new sneaks the last two days to get my chubby, 56yo feet accustomed to the unwelcome news that we are going to run. They are reluctant, but gave it a go tonight for w1r2. It was a success! “Run” is a perhaps a misnomer; we were more akin to a shuffling Clydesdale, but we put our faith in the community and our mentors that tell us slow is good.

Many thanks to everyone for your stories, honesty, and tips. You have helped me believe that I can actually DO this. Of course, it helps that you all have delightful accents (says the girl from Pennsylvania, USA). I’m looking forward to my next shuffle of Sunday, and will use my rest day to visit some friends in the wine country of New York State.
