...not. LOL my new sneaks (Adidas airbounce) came in the mail. Very stealthy. Somewhat intimidating, as one equates Adidas with serious exercise people, those who talk knowingly in arcane terms about splits and BP’s and endorphins.
But, I’ve committed to this endeavor, so I’ve worn my beauteous new sneaks the last two days to get my chubby, 56yo feet accustomed to the unwelcome news that we are going to run. They are reluctant, but gave it a go tonight for w1r2. It was a success! “Run” is a perhaps a misnomer; we were more akin to a shuffling Clydesdale, but we put our faith in the community and our mentors that tell us slow is good.
Many thanks to everyone for your stories, honesty, and tips. You have helped me believe that I can actually DO this. Of course, it helps that you all have delightful accents (says the girl from Pennsylvania, USA). I’m looking forward to my next shuffle on Sunday, and will use my rest day to visit some friends in the wine country of New York State.

Ooooh! Lovely shoes they are too. I graduated last month and treated myself to not one but two pair of real running shoes, a first for this 64 year old chubby! One pair Asics and the other the Adidas Airbounce. My faves are definitely the Adidas, just like having big cushions attached to my feet. Enjoy your c25k journey well done and carry on the Clydesdale shuffle😃
Welcome to the community and congrats on starting. I'm an Adidas girl too, and love them! Weirdly, I bought them before the thought of EVER running even crossed my mind. It must have been fate. Enjoy Sunday's shuffle... then it's week 2! You not only can do this, you are doing it. Keep us posted x
Slow is good.. and Adidas..excellent choice.. my road runners and my trail shoes are Adidas.. I love them
Shuffling.. snail mode.. simply great..it gets us to where we wish to be... Have a good rest ( with some gentle exercise in there somewhere though ) and head out Sunday. I am running too
