18 stone new runner - week one!

So, my new running regime started off in the pub, with a drunken bet to a friend that I would do our local park run with them (they were experienced runners who kept trying me to start)

The day arrived and after 45 mins, I loved it, a few more runs with no structure that week followed, then, to much to soon - shin splints. Luckily for me I had a week holiday in Spain so time to rest, however I was gutted

I knew at this point, more was needed. A pair of running shoes, proper shorts and appropriate wear, a regular stretch before and after - then couch to 5k came in, having just completed week one, I am still loving it, I can’t believe I can even run for a minute, however I know it’s a tough programme to come, I hope I can keep up

Let’s do this

Well I've heard lots of excuses for doing this but not a drunken bet in the pub! 😂😂 Good luck, you've certainly got the determination to succeed 😃
