I tried to do a couch to 5k plan a few ears ago but stopped because my shin splints were so painful. I’ve completed my 2nd run of week 1 but already my shins are starting to become painful. I’ve had a little look at some posts and am I right I’m hoping that some different trainers may help. Any other suggestions as I really want to keep going with this

I'm no expert at all but it may be because you are running too fast. Slow down massively (I did). Also maybe try a longer warm-up? I do five minutes of my own & then the five minutes on the app. I also do the same at the end to cool down. As I say I'm not an expert at all but it's worth a shot so that you can carry on. Good luck.
Thanks. Not sure I can slow down as I feel like I’m going at a snails pace but will give it a go
Shin splints and many knee pains are caused primarily by the impact of running, so do all you can to reduce that.
Slow down, keep footfall under your body, not out in front, avoid heelstrike, run on grass or treadmill, wear proper running shoes fitted after a gait analysis done at a specialist running shop and stretch after every run as outlined in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
