So I bought some New Balance 860v8's yesterday after a gait analysis, following ankle pain during week 3 run 1. The ankle pain has gone but I have new aches in other muscles which I assume is down to the new running shoes changing my foot position, however I am worried by what I think is Achilles pain. Back of heel up to calves hurting on both sides. Should I get that sort of pain with good quality running shoes?

New shoes will support your feet differently, so can create minor aches in muscles that are now working differently.
They should not cause major pain and frankly it may only be possible to prove that it is the new shoes causing it by reverting to your old ones. It might be a coincidence. If in doubt go back to the shop and get further advice. Any reputable running shop is not going to quibble if you have only used them a couple of times (try to keep them clean).
Best of luck.
