W2r3 completed. It really isnā€™t getting any easier! When did everyone else start to feel like a runner?

Iā€™m on w4 run1 itā€™s a tough one

I struggled paused had stern word and carried on and done it

I am no runner and I have a doubt I ever will be

But I keep trying and you will do too

Donā€™t let it beat you! I bet if you now tried week 1 again you will find it easy which shows how well you are doing ! Well done for doing this and keep going!

Iā€™m 50 next year and want to do a 5 k before that ! Set a goal and Go girl !!!

Iā€™m on week 7 and only just now am beginning to feel like a runner. I hit a wall on week 3 and got really fed up. After amazing support on here I changed my route and adapted my pace a bit more. I also made myself a play list on my phone that helped me to keep a pace where I was comfortable. This gave me a renewed enthusiasm for it and Iā€™m so pleased as Iā€™m finding it better each week. Iā€™m still achy and knackered sometimes but my overall fitness has increased, Iā€™m finally beginning to lose weight and Iā€™m starting to relax into it more. I think I set my expectations too high for myself and once I stopped beating myself up I found it easier and have been more successful. Good luck with it! Keep going. You will get there I promise. If I can anyone can! šŸ˜šŸ˜ x

For me it was halfway through week 3, I suddenly was enjoying it and Iā€™m about to do week 6 run 3 next . Keep going and donā€™t try to run too fast. Youā€™ll get there šŸ‘

Have to say I did W4R1 today and for the first time I thought "yay - I'm running again!" I had to give up a year ago for medical reasons & I've just started back with C25K it was recommended to me as a gentle way to start back into it. I do it all on a treadmill coz I prefer the gym. For the first three weeks I wasn't feeling it & wondered whether I would ever feel that "runner's high" again but today was a turning point for me so keep at it - you've come this far & it will get easier.

Slow down to an easy conversational pace, as set out in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Everyone has good runs and bad runs. Don't dwell too long on a bad one.

It doesn't get easier, but you do get stronger. It will continue to challenge you, though, but it becomes more a test of mental strength as you progress.

Most find that the first unbroken run at the end of week 5 is the one that really makes you feel like a runner

I am on week 3 and don't feel like a runner (haven't left the treadmill yet either!). It's not getting any easier, HOWEVER I am coping with it better which means my body is getting fitter. I think I will feel like a runner with the bigger runs later on x
