So i went on my first solo bike ride tonight after work. I was nervous on the country roads and didnt make it too the top of the hill with out getting of and walking..but i felt good that i had got out on my own and was heading home still pumping away riding into a strong wind. A group of 5 male cyclist were coming up behind me and i heard one say 'fatty alert' then as they got up behind he said ' shes at least giving me a good slip stream in this wind' ! I might be over weight but i am out there trying to get fit only to have some ( i won't say what i want to call them) intimidate me! I am trying so hard not not let them bother me but this is why i run on a trendmill at home and dont go out! Some times people are so mean!

Wow. How about obnoxious of them. I can see that this would be hurtful but I’m sure you know these are comments that say WAY more about them than anything whatsoever about you.
You are indeed getting out there getting fit and you’re doing it for you, not for a passing bunch of twats.
Just ignore these lycra clad road hogs they are on an ego trip. getting out their is a big deal but its so much nicer than running indoors. I live in an area full of elderly folk walking their dogs and they look at me lumping along enviously spurring me on.
