30 minutes and beyond

So the week before last I completed week 9 and graduated c25k! It was very exciting and the support from my friends and family was incredible.

My PCOS meant that I had to take last week off entirely though and I was worried that it would be a huge step backwards if I couldn’t consolidate those 30 minute runs. With a 5k race for life at the end of the month I was a little worried I wasn’t going to meet my target of running a for real 5k before race day.

With health things back to normal (more or less) I set out without any app for the first time. I knew the route I run can be looped into a 5k so I figured screw it, let’s just push the limits here and see how long I can go and if I get to 35mins or 5k I’ll stop unless it gets too much before then.

So without Sarah millican cheering me on and my questionable music taste blaring I managed to hit the 35minute mark. But I could see my start point (the 5k marker) not too far ahead so I pushed myself a little further and holy cow did I manage a 5k!!!

I might have pushed a little harder than was wise but I’m not too achey today. I’m gonna work on consolidating this now and rocking it at race for life.
