2 years ago I completed the C25K, was very impressed with myself and actually called myself a runner...but then I stopped. ( Why is it so much easier to stop than to start?! LOL.) I was only running weekends due to work and I found missing those morning runs during the week became easier to miss and the weekend runs became much harder where I had trouble running for 5-10 minutes at a time without stopping. Instead of upping the days I ran, I stopped.
So 2 years after graduating I have come back and have to say I have actually missed running. I am going to do the Race for Life this year (its on in July where I am), and have managed to persuade a couple of friends to do it with me -one is currently using a treadmill (& has persuaded her hubby and son to do it too), and the other wants to run a couple of weeks on her own before we go out together. (She says she is worried I will hold her back but she used to run 10k's with a running club so it should be me that's worried I think! )
I have found weeks 1 and 2 not too bad (have managed to run without stopping when I should anyway) and yesterday did W3R1 which surprisingly also went well (the 3 min runs were both slightly downhill which helped LOL). I can't run at 5 or 6am like I used to and don't like evening runs, so have worn my running gear to take my son to school over the last couple of weeks and gone from there before going home to get ready for work. (I actually don't care what people think of me at the school wearing my gear either!!!)
Looking forward to W3R2 tomorrow
Good luck everyone we CAN do it !
