Interesting jump in distance at W5 run 3. Seems a bit of a leap from 8 mins to 20 - different to earlier principle of incremental increases. Just completed it and quite different effect on muscles and joints. Interested in what others think - too much too soon or good progress marker?
That step up at W5 R3 though?: Interesting jump... - Couch to 5K
That step up at W5 R3 though?
I actually found it more comfortable to run for 20mins than start stop of w5r2 when the break in between runs made it difficult to get going again
Well done 😄. I think the proof is in the pudding 😉. In other words- you managed it!!! So the plan works. Good luck with week 6, you know you can do it👍.
16 minutes running, 5 minutes brisk walking equals 21 minutes in W5R2.....it is a step down to W5R3.
I found the next run harder than this and that had starts and stops!
I managed w5 r3 fairly easily but w6 r1 i really struggled with despite it having the breaks in, well done on completing your first long run
Yes, I found it tough too - I was genuinely exhausted for some time afterwards and really felt it on my knees. Very different to the two previous runs. But well done to both of us for getting through it!
I was dreading this run when I saw what I had to do- but my daughter ( who’s run 2 marathons ) said that’s how training goes- a big run is thrown in when you’re ready. And last night I did it!! Would never ever have believed I’d be able to run for 20 minutes
It just shows how amazing this programme is, it really does work
I completed C25K last year but then had a few months out so started back again at the beginning and completed wk5r3 this morning. Both times I found it a good marker, it's very much mind over matter. Good luck with week 6
I was dreading it but like most I found it exhilarating. I was worried about the jump too.
