Did my first run but needed to walk two of the runs due to stitch? Anyway I can avoid that?

As you get in through the weeks Mazpez, Laura says to avoid a stitch, drink some water before you start your run and take some deep breaths whilst relaxing the tummy whilst you are running. I'm quite new to this too so others may have better advice!

Slow down and breathe deeply.

The guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Enjoy your journey.

Great advice thank you not sure I was going too fast but struggle with my stride as quite tall or if that’s nonsense it’s how I feel when I take off to run?!?

I also find it helps to run without too much in the stomach - I'm far more likely to get a stitch if I run after dinner than any other time of day, because it's my biggest meal so even if I wait 1.5 hours I think I'm still digesting. I try to run first thing in the morning or between work and dinner and that works out better for me. If you feel a stitch coming on slow your pace and breath deeply. Relaxing your shoulders can help too - I find it hard to breath deeply when my shoulders are up.
