Tough Mudder advice

Not sure if there is anyone here that can help me. My boyfriend wants me to join him in a tough mudder race in July.

By that point I should have completed C25K so even though its 8k I don't think that I will have problems with the distance. My issue is the obstacles, I have zero muscle strength and can only do lady push ups and have a feeling I would have to get a personal trainer in order to get me to a level that may be able to compete.

It's 11 weeks away is this enough time to do it?

Personally I would not. I quite frankly would be too scared of getting injured which would put me on the IC for running also. If I WANTED to do the TM it would be after training specifically for the kind of body strength and manouveres expected.

Just my ten cents worth, ymmv. Good luck either way ☺

From what i have seen there is very little running involved in tough mudder - it is all about obstacles and having some serious grit (and upper body strength) - of which i have none.

If you can get a personal trainer and train for the specific things then go for it - if not stay away :-) - but thats just my opinion

If it's something you want to do - then go for it! I believe you can run past obstacles you don't wish to complete or can't complete. I don't know if that means you get deductions or discounted somehow though?

You could try the NHS Strength and Flex programme nhs.uk/Video/Pages/strength... as cross training on your rest days.

You might find it useful to read the guide to post C25K running to see how your plans fit with recommendations healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Take care.
