Whats that all about? How can i go from running 28 mins to not even making it to 15 mins?

I kept trying to keep jogging along but i just couldnt. I ended up walking the rest of the 5k back to the car in tears.

How can i be so close to graduation and yet feel so far away from it?

Need to repeat this one another day 😢

Had you had enough water? Dehydration might have foiled you, especially as it’s been pretty warm today.

Sometimes the legs are just leaden. Don't worry, you will get there. The warm weather has probably had a hand in it too, so make sure you drink plenty of water before and after. Don't get downhearted! It happens ...

Keep on running!

I found running in this heat hard today, my daugher really struggled today too. She doesn't follow this plan, but she normally does 4 laps round the field. She only managed one and a half. She was so frustrated. As I said to her though, just remember you got out there, you managed just under 15 minutes, more than you did just a few weeks ago. You could have been sat doing nothing for that time but you didn't, you still ran.

Don't underestimate the impact of the temperature , and put this one behind you, focus on all the other good stuff you have done.

Next time, drink plenty and aim to go really slowly. You've got all the time you need, so what if it takes a little longer, you will still get there.

I found week nine the hardest. Although I logically knew that I had run 28 minutes in week eight, in week nine my mind had not quite caught up with my legs. Also week nine is really close to graduating and there is all of the "how will I cope without Laura (or your chosen guru)" and "How will I keep it up post graduation" angst going on. A couple of runs past graduation and I still have a hard time believing that I can run for 30 minutes (or more) and I am still squishing gremlins - But I really can! Please don't be disheartened - just go out next time and squish the gremlins (I find that they make a quite satisfying squelchy sensation underfoot). Budging up on the podium for you but there is lots of room.

Oh love. Not a fail just a practice. Not a pleasant one by the sound of it but a practice nonetheless. Look at how far you've come, you've got so much to be proud of already 👍

Everyone has runs like that now and again. Put it behind you and carry on. You are only 3 runs from graduating. Good luck !
