w8 in the bag - but need some advice...

Very strange feeling coming this far - we completed our third run last night with no real dramas, it isn't exactly comfortable or easy but it is just a matter of doing it. And just three runs to go (touch wood). Unlike the earlier stages no fears at all about increasing from 28 to 30 minutes, it is just a question of being out a bit longer and buying some genuine bubbly for sunday (fingers crossed!).

We are beginning to think on what to do afterwards....we have come this far being really slow (we mean really really slow) following everyone's advice. I mean basically no faster than a normal man walking briskly to get to an appointment and our speed hasn't changed we can just go for longer. So where to go from here, longer runs? faster runs? Actually reaching 5k rather than the 3k that the runs next week will take us to would be nice, but what is the best way to achieve this? We want something to motivate us and put in place pretty well immediately after graduation...

Tips anyone?

Graduate first... then... lots of consolidation of the 30 minute runs... and then different routes, distances and speeds... a short slightly faster run.. a longer, just 'see where you get to run'... then maybe try the C25K+ podcasts... Stepping Stones, Speed and Stamina.. all challenging and helping with the different disciplines in our running... and check this post out too..

Good ideas here....

But first the Graduation and the bubbly! Well done!

I am sure I wrote a response to say thanks but I missed clicking reply! Sorry! Anyway thank you for the advice and we are beginning to feel our way towards a bit of a post-grad plan for the next couple of weeks at least. Cheers!
