Definitely no running tomorrow and I doubt any running this week ;(

No idea what happened, no idea why it hurts. I went to E&A and verdict is tendonitis = no running :(

Any suggestions? I know to start with rest, ice, compression and elevation. But how to speed up process? Anybody did go through it?

Hi Iga

Just google it you will see ten different treatment options.🤔

Number 9 is what you are doing initially but also heat.🤔

Only for initial information.Seek professional help.👍👏👏

Do not run and push yourself. Be patient.🤔.

Can you self refer and see a physio in your area.🤔or your GP also.🤔

Bad luck but you need to be patient now.🙈🌟👏👏

I will be patient. Doctor in the hospital told me not to use heat. I am Googling and reading about it.

I'm going to call GP tomorrow and try to organise physiotherapy.

I was just wondering if anyone actually got back to running after tendonitis in foot.

Aww interesting , 👍👏👏

Our bodies are better at repairing themselves and even sometimes ice to reduce the swelling is contrary to the swelling created initially to further protect us.🤔

Wonder why number 9 says heat also.🙈

All the best Iga , sorry I cannot help.Do not know the answer to that.🙈🌟👏👏

Ice/cold is for new injuries. It reduces blood flow, and as the blood is carrying inflammatory markers to the area, it reduces the inflammation.

Heat is for old injuries, by increasing blood flow to that area for healing.

It's interesting what you say about ice prolonging healing time though. There's certainly evidence that anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen can lengthen the healing time, precisely by blocking the body's attempts to repair the tissue.

It's about symptom relief I guess. Taking paracetamol for a cold can help the virus, as it lowers your temperature, exactly countering what the body has done in an attempt to fight the virus! But then if you've got to go to work for 8 hours, why deny yourself feeling a bit better with some paracetamol?

Thank you so much for clarifying this.🌟👏👏

Really appreciate that.🌟

Yes the temperature is good example of how the body increases our temperature to help us.🤔

I am not a medic or fitness advisor, just a novice runner that has taken this up mid 70’s and loving it.👍

Thank you again, and all the best to you with your journey.👍🌟👏👏

I will remember your wisdom and what you have advised.🌟👏👏
