Tuesday i started on week 2 run 1 and it was brilliant and felt great , and easier...today for run 2 it was back to being quite a struggle π© next week will be the real test of my motivation as half term ends and I'll be back to my job at a school . It hasn't been so bad through half term going whenever I can, now I will have to stop myself sitting down for the night and not moving until bedtime π
Spoke too soon π : Tuesday i started on week... - Couch to 5K
Spoke too soon π
Find a time of day that suits you. I also work at school and I go and get changed as soon as I get back home and go straight away because I know if I sit down I won't get back up. If there's a field near the school, you could run before you go home. Once you get into the habit, it becomes second nature! I know it sounds cliche but you feel such a great sense of accomplishment once you've completed a run that it helps to keep you motivated. Good luck.
Keep at it - it will all come together. Slow it down a bit next run maybe, running for the timed interval is more important than pace, which will increase naturally over time as you get stronger. I know how hard it can be some days to get out there after work - I just head out as soon as I can - and never regret it. Good luck!π
Donβt give up!!
I always found that I had to get in from work, immediately put on my running gear and get back out - otherwise the temptation to stop and sit was too great.
The hard bit was walking out the door...the running wasnβt too bad!
You can do it π
Thanks guys, I think where I have to wait a few hours for my partner to get home from work to sit with my daughter, that's the time when I sit down and lose motivation! Hopefully I will gradually get myself a nice little routine !
You will find a way to run that will suit you. So just keep going, the health benefits are what keeps me going. If you need advice, support or a kick up the bum we are all here for you and if you need advice but are too shy to ask on the forum there are many of us you can pm too ok. Remember slow and steady and if you are not comfortable moving on just repeat a run or the whole week if you need to ok.Good luck, Steveπ
