Completed week 1 last week, first 2 runs on treadmill in the hotel but the 3rd on pavements around home, that I found much harder on the legs, any advice on footwear for road running?

I bought new trainers as old ones lacked support. If you go to a good running shop they will assess your gait and help you choose the right shoe.
