I’m fed up today. I’m still sore from Saturday’s run and I’m worried it may be more than achy leg muscles. I’m going to take an extra rest day, maybe some stretches and some ibuprofen and see how it goes. Road running is definitely out for a bit though, this is after Wk6 R1’s outdoor run and I didn’t feel this bad after the end of Wk5’s 20 minutes on the treadmill.
I don’t want to stop now, I’m only just getting going 😟

Don't quit - you've come this far and don't want to lose all that hard work!!
When you're on the treadmill, is it flat? Treadmill running is definitely easier than outdoor running, to better simulate the road, you can add in an incline of 1-2 degrees, which may help make the transition easier.
No shame in going back a week if you need to ease up a bit!
Thanks Amanda, no I’m definitely not quitting! Just feel a bit disheartened.
I have the treadmill on 1 degree. My last run was constantly uphill (& it was definitely more than 1 degree) for the middle 8 minutes and I think that’s what got me. Next run is 10 & 10 but you’re right, it may be worth going back a bit again.
I just hope it clears up as I’d love to run tomorrow otherwise I’ll start to feel blobby again!!
Hills are SO hard for me too, they suck the energy right out of me! I've just finished w3r1 and thankfully this last one was timed well that I didn't catch every single hill with run intervals like w2 seemed to have me doing. The hills on my usual route are pretty minor, I adjusted the route to avoid the bigger hills. I think I'll set my sights back on those after I complete the c25k and feel I have runners legs beneath me!
Yeah, I think I’ll go to the nice flat park when I go back outside! I wouldn’t mind, mine wasn’t even really a hill! You’ve definitely got the right idea 😁
Outdoors is different to the treadmill and can throw up hurdles we don’t expect - even things like headwinds and puddles can be off-putting.
If you’re sore than rest a while, I’d also check out the FAQS as I’m sure there’s something about running having taken ibuprofen. As I recall it can hinder the muscles rest and repair cycle.
No need to stop just take an extra day’s rest - that’s often a good thing as you progress to the later stages as cumulatively the impact on your bod is adding up.
Hope you feel less achey soon and good luck for rest of W6
