W1R2 - Pretty Good in the End!

Oh, it's only my second run and I didn't really want to do it. I *think* I'm getting a cold.

But I always think I'm getting a cold, when in reality I get about 1 a year :)

So, based on that, I talked myself into going out anyway by saying if I had to walk all/most of it and repeat it, that would be fine. Getting out was the main thing.

And I'm glad I did! I did the whole thing through, and it was really, really satisfying!

I'm all achy, it's probably not a cold, it's a reminder of the hard work I'm putting in and I expect to be out and about for run 3 the day after tomorrow :)

I hope you're all having a lovely day, and a lovely run, and have some lovely achy muscles to be proud of ❤️

😊 thank you! What's you're secret for talking yourself into it?

Well done. You learned an important thing today. Running is as much a mental discipline as a physical one. I always have a million reasons to avoid going out but I try not to give myself any choice.

Thank you! It was an interesting psychological discovery, I usually would give in to whatever my excuses were but I think this is the way for me. Just being gentle on the expectation. Now I think the running bug has bitten me ☀️❤️️

Well done, you! The biggest battle is a mental one and actually getting up and starting. Onwards and upwards! 😊

Thank you! You know I think that's it now, I think I enjoyed that run so much that hopefully I won't have to psych myself up anymore .... we'll see 😆 I'm so glad we have this forum, it's so helpful and nice! ❤️️☀️

Haha, have a great run! If you really have a cold (I hope not 😟) and you have to do a lesser version of the run it's ok. Interestingly my cold symptoms have basically disappeared 😆😆❤️️☀️

Well I did it, and probably wouldn’t have without your post so thank you. No cold in sight, I’m sure the body gremlins come crawling out at the very mention of run 😅

Of course the run was much better in the doing than the thinking about - plus it’s spring and the birds are singing

Amazing! ✋ I'm so glad you went out and your fake cold went away 😆😆 here's to more spring time glorious sunshiney outings 🌻💐 (ohhhhhh, maybe it's just a bit of spring time allergies - but we're not allergic to running)
