Week three run one - the one where the dog goes missing!

Saturday morning and no lie in for me, out of the house by 6am – honestly I don’t know what’s wrong with me!!

The start of the run was slightly “interesting” just as I’d done the first 90 second jog, hubby calls to me to stop but keep moving, as Aura had disappeared. I kept the app running but before I knew it, the app had told me to run again so I reluctantly hit pause and turned back to look for the dog. I found her by some beach huts, then I just had to find hubby – the first part of this morning’s track (before I restarted) did look quite funny!

As I hadn’t actually stopped moving, I restarted the app at the beginning of the first 90 seconds and actually started to enjoy it, and believe in myself. I had been trepidatious about the three minute runs, but I smashed the first one and felt good at the (admittedly very slow) pace I was keeping. By the second three minutes, it did feel longer, and I was expecting a voice at 90 seconds to say I was half-way through, but that didn’t come until two minutes. That last 60 seconds really required digging in (have I mentioned my hubby’s ex para?!?) and hubby’s encouragement was really helpful!

It’s amazing to think how far this programme has already taken me – running solidly for thee minutes when I started this seemed impossible, but today I’ve proved to myself it isn’t, which does give me confidence to keep going!
