Hi everyone. I started the programme yesterday and felt good; I was determined to skip the rest day today but I ache all over! Best I do as I am told! However, thought I might compromise and go for a walk. Got my daily steps up to 10K yesterday for the first time in ages due to walk/run, would be nice to keep up some sort of momentum.

Never skip repair days.π
Just means no impact stuff.π€No running.π€
Recommend the Active 10 for your repair days. Download it here. Better than the 10,000 steps, because it monitors brisk walking and gets your heart going. The other programme does not.π€
Of course it has been good, π€ππ.

While the early weeks may seem easy, the rest days are there for good scientific reasons. When you run you create micro tears in your muscles which repair and strengthen on your rest days, not while running. If you miss the rest day this repair and strengthening is compromised, potentially increasing your injury risk.
Non impact exercise improves circulation and therefore the repair, so cross training will make you a better runner than running every day.
Take care.
