Yesterday was not a good day! I’ve been really struggling with 25 min runs and yesterday I just couldn’t push myself past 20 mins. My head felt like it was going to explode, wasn’t even going at any speed, was crawling! really anxious that I won’t make it to the end of this programme now. First time I’ve felt like this 😞
Week 7 run 3 Epic Fail 😫: Yesterday was not a... - Couch to 5K
Week 7 run 3 Epic Fail 😫
Oh oh..no using the 'f' word here please... practice, blip or just one of those runs.
You have come a very long way.. do not lose heart now. You could be sickening for something, be already carrying a virus or nasty bug...be overtired, anything really.
The runs are getting longer.. have you upped your stamina and strength exercises, to keep the rest of you in tune with the legs?
These runs are meant to be run in and relaxed way... slow and steady and let the newly forming running legs find their own happy pace.
Take a day's rest and see if you feel okay... take another if necessary... there is no way you won't do this... we will be right here to support you!
" The moment you feel that you are ready to give up...is usually, the moment just before the miracle happens
Wise words from Oldfloss - don't be downhearted, fail does not feature here ever - when you are ready pick yourself up and just take one step in front of the other - you have week 8 just round the corner and I promise something magical happens here. You are so amazing and have done brilliantly.
Don't be so hard on yourself. It was just a bad run.
You're doing great and you will reach the end, triumphant and giddy!!
Perhaps give yourself 2 rest days just to reboot.
You can do this!! 🤗
Seven weeks! That’s all. Tiny time frame in new runner terms. it takes a while to build up our fledgling bodies to be able to run for any length of time
This programme is perfect. No worries!
Some runs are just pants In this game we have to take the tough with the smooth and move on
You’ll be fine. Just go steady and you’ll nail it 😎
Oh no! Sorry to hear that. You've done 25 mins twice already and you did 4/5 of the third run. You are not failing, you're doing really well!
Extra rest day and then try again. You've got this😊
Plenty of rest, plenty of fluids in the 24 hours beforehand and then plenty of positivity. Don’t go out the door expecting to fail or succeed- try going out with “we’ll just see what happens” attitude and then IF it ends up being a practice run- no problem! 😉 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️

Having recently had my first "bad runs" I'm convinced its largely in the head. If the brain gets too involved then energy leaks out all over the place that should be going into the running. "Pushing yourself" takes energy, "breaking through barriers" takes energy. Being tense takes energy. I've also noticed that when I set out with too "determined" an attitude I go far too quickly at the start and quickly run out of steam
But it's just a run in the park. There's nothing in front of you but fresh air.
