I haven't run in many years. In fact, I suffered with sciatica symptoms for several months last year at this time after trying to implement a walking routine. I have just challenged myself to run a 4K in August with my sister. I am approaching 62 years of age. I really would love to be able to do this.

Committing yourself should be a great incentive to complete the programme. Good luck and enjoy 😊

Hey 🙂

I am a total beginner too - I’ve never run in my life!

Well I'm 61 and I'm in Week 7 of the programme, so it can definitely work for us oldies. I'm not qualified to comment on the sciatica issue. However, other things being even, you will definitely be able to do this if you just stick to the programme and heed the warnings if you feel you are getting injured. (I did).

It sounds to me as though you really want to give this a good go - so go for it!

Best of luck, and happy running. xxx

We had an 83 year old graduate last year, so age is no bar.

This plan works for anyone.

Read the guide to the plan here healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

We will get you there, so keep posting.

Follow the link given to you by IannodaTruffe and you cannot go wrong.

Keep it slow and keep it steady...Having been on the IC with a trapped sciatic nerve, ( horribly unpleasant companion for five weeks) in January/Feb...I can recommend these exercises...

I was also sent a link by a fellow forum friend which will send to you by message:) I could not believe the difference it made to me.

Take it slow, take it steady and enjoy.. I like a few of us are a more seasoned runner.. ( 68 in a few weeks time)..:)

This is a great App to follow I have never run in my life and I am now on week 8 run 2. Starting at week 1 I thought that there would be no way of me running for 30 minutes but now I am really positive that I can do it. If you follow the plan and work through the pain with determination you will get their. Good luck and enjoy
