That final minute of every run seems to go on forever! Am I right?
That final minute!: That final minute of every... - Couch to 5K
That final minute!
Well.. maybe. If you are travelling at a comfy pace, you should have something left in that final minute..finishing i style is how Laura describes it on the NHS podcast
Mind you, I did, when I was doing C25K, use to respond by saying to her, " Finish in style? I 'll just be happy to finish at all "
I try to ramp up the pace in that last minute, but I’m sure it’s a generous minute 😉
I found that...it will get easier 😊
See how many birds you can identify, count the clouds, check your running posture, start a shopping list, try to pin down your favourite holiday destination, count backwards from one thousand, start singing the Rumanian National anthem............anything to take your mind off time.
The longer your runs become, the more important this distraction becomes and not just for the final minute.
I spend a lot of time checking my posture, breathing, whether my glutes are engaged, etc. I’m in week 8, and used to run quite a lot (5k twice a week and then 10 to 20 on the weekend), but my form was poor and I ended up in physio with ITB problems. Returning after long respite now 😊
yes! It's a bit like when I try and get colleagues to finish up a meeting and they are like "this will just be a minute" ... actually, no, those "minutes" really do last much longer ...
But yes, I thought so
I can be running fine, feeling fresh and feel like there's plenty left in the tank and then the final minute announcement is made and that's it, I feel then like I've lost all my fuel and energy. I dread the announcement 😂😂!
Yes!!
