Torn muscle

I tore a muscle in my thigh trying to lift my motorbike (don't ask) It's a bit twingey but I feel like I can still run. SHould I? Or maybe do a smaller run? I'm up to 5min walk, 20min run 5 min walk atm.

If it is definitely torn, do not run on it until it is healed. If you want to make that happen more quickly see a physio.

I suspect it's only pulled, not torn (I am a drama llama) because I can still walk... Might just do a power walk today!

Why risk it BadgersMoon? ...😟 if its twingey when just walking the impact of running won't aid recovery.

Ice it ( frozen peas wrapped in a tea towel) elevate the leg and let it all settle down. The running will still be there in a few days time..😊x

The important question is, what model of bike? And is it OK?

Lol, that reminds me of my youth. I had a big off on the bike one day but thankfully wasn't hurt. Though the bike was a bit more hurt from hitting the curbstone the council had dropped in the middle of a tight bend and the ensuing evil knievel antics required to stay on the bucking bronco. So anyways, I was home late as the bike needed recovering, I shouted upstairs to the missus that I'd had a big accident and she shouted down "how much?"...

Priorities eh!

😁 I have come off and dropped a few motorbikes in my time, heaviest one for me to pickup was a rather big BMW R1150rt I made sure that was the only time I dropped it..😨

The new Royal Enfield Himalayan - only little but so am I and it's a top heavy adventure-style bike! I could lift the old Kawasaki Vulcan using a squat lift but I panicked. I need to take the OH and practice somewhere quiet! And it' s fine, it was the gentlest drop in history... couple of scuffs on the peg, bars and exhaust, but battle-scars are look good on adventure bikes ;)

Give yourself a couple of extra rest days, it will do you good. Far better to try the next run when your muscle is feeling better than risking running and making it worse, then you'll be on th e IC even longer.

As it happened the decision was taken out of my hands by a partial wardrobe malfunction! It's amazing how a bit of water retention makes the difference between trousers staying up while running and trousers falling down while running. Did 30 minutes uphill walking while clinging to my trousers instead!
