I got all the way to week 8 last year in June, stopped for a week when going to Glastonbury and then continued to stop for the rest of 2018... whoops. I really struggle with inertia and inability to self-motivate so I saw it as a self-fulfilling prophecy and just decided that was always what was going to happen and my failure was inevitable - obviously that didn't do wonders for my mental health! I started again from week 5 in January this year and completed week 9 run 3 last Saturday. I really felt quite emotional when I realised I'd pushed through and properly finished! It was also my first 30 minute run to actually hit 5km (5.27 to be exact, the earlier 2 had been 4.93 and 4.83) which gave it a nice extra layer of meaning as well. Now I'm just going to try and keep up the 30 min runs to consolidate the progress I've made... hopefully no more 5 month breaks.
