Hi there! I’m lisa, 34, hate exercise but determined to get healthy this year. Hubby bought me some running gear for xmas and I’ve about to put them on for the first time and start this journey in 30 mins! I bnever see things through so hope I can do this now. Have 3 girls and would like them to be proud of me as have promised them a holiday if I can lose 4 stone! Wish me luck 😛

You never see things through? Don't say that. Simply go out and do this. Don't think, don't analyse, don't complicate, don't delay, don't be put off, don't look for excuses, simply do it, we all did.

I’m all dressed ready to go! One of my daughters is coming along with me for support (or more likely to call an ambulance if I pass out lol)

Do this for you :) It's going to feel "impossible" to ever graduate from the programme if you are like the rest of us. :)

Don't even think about it.

Can you commit to simply putting on your gear and going out the door? That is still sometimes the hardest part for 5, 10, half and full Marathon Runners here, believe me.

But - we know that the enjoyment of running is waiting out there and that trump's "feelings" for us :)

Read the beginner posts of Graduates - I promise you, the ONLY people who do this programme are those who think the "can't run/would never make it" - but just as long as you go out the door in your running gear, the runs take care of themselves. Less than ten percent of us actually graduate in 9 weeks and/or with 5k so just focus on running slow and steady - forget "speed" and "distance"

Wishing you many happy miles in your future ☺

You'll be surprised at how great you'll feel after doing this first run! Don't give up, it's worth every drop of sweat!

I did it! 8 mins running and I didn’t collapse! Legs feel like jelly and my tops kept riding up and to make it worse there were footballers playing a match on the field - but I still did it! Can’t say I’m looking forward to the next one but I’m determined to do it!

My first run was the worst ever, myself and my family still laugh at the state I was in when I returned home after that memorable run. But now I've completed week 4 and can honestly say I'm enjoying this running malarkey . Congratulations on your first run and welcome aboard!!

Go for it! Best thing you’ll ever do for yourself. DON’T give up if it seems really hard, I still think the first 2 weeks are the worst but into your third week it’s so invigorating, you’re almost missing your non-run days. 👍🏼

That’s a great incentive!! You can definitely do this!

I have 3 kids too, and I’ve found it surprisingly easy to fit in to family life. Great to set a good example...

All the best!

Well done for starting!... I echo every one else’s comments but particularly want you to concentrate on the positives of running, don’t let the negatives stop you: “it’s cold, I’m tired, I’ve got too much to do... the list goes on.... YOU are the most important person... If you don’t look after yourself first and foremost, how can you look after your family effectively?? Good luck 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Did you ask 'Santa' for the running fear or was it a surprise?

If you want to lose four stones and get healthy then you have to keep going. Never quit 💪👍

I think most of us were running off the couch, I certainly was, And exercise averse. You get to a point where you feel like shyte and you have to turn things round

I only wish I’d done it sooner 😕
