Long base layer tights with shorts?

I’m looking to get some more gear but is it wrong to wear full length base layer tights with shorts?

I wear running shorts over leggings Superman style so as to tone down the full-on MAMIL look. No cape though.

I initially wore shorts over running tights but don't anymore. All the running ones are double lined around the important bits so don't show anything. I found the shorts just became an annoyance flapping around, albeit handy as an extra pocket in warmer weathers hen you don't have a jacket on.

In all honesty I have never run before October and after February so I don't know the delight of multiple digit temps and running.

Unless you particularly enjoy having extremely sweaty extremes, you may find the running tights are best confined to the frosty months

Perhaps not for a wedding..., but for running it is absolutely fine. I see loads of folk wearing that combo and anyway it’s nobody’s business what you wear. The only critical bit is to make sure you are comfortable and the seams don’t give you chafing issues.
