Hi - I am a relatively old 'newbie' at 66 and struggling a bit. Week one was fine and I have completed week two but my knees are painful, although not unbearably so, when I start jogging. The ache then stops as I warm up. Should I stop the programme or maybe have a gait analysis and invest in better trainers? Advice gratefully received.

I'm not qualified to do medical advice but gait analysis and really good shoes helped me a lot.

Then try these exercises too;

Warm up well too and stretch after each and every run
