I completed R2 tonight reasonably comfortably. I don't, however, feel particularly relieved or satisfied having managed the 2 x 8 minute runs. Despite running for the longest I have, my run was slower by about 1 km/h whereas previous weeks I averaged 5.4 km/h and I thought that was slow! Do I need to be concerned or should I just push on and worry about speed at the end of the programme?

dude how do you even work out speed?? Lol, all I ever care about is finishing the run, I’ve been lapped by snails and the passing of seasons and I’m not even remotely concerned.
I really don’t think speed should be a concern until we finish the course and I am placing all my eggs in the basket that as soon as we graduate then a running fairy will delivers us a boost of pace as a reward 👍🏻
Well done on completing run 2, good luck for run 3👍🏻💪🏻

You never have to worry about speed.. ever.
It comes if we wish it to... as we run, each run makes us stronger...our stamina and core strength exercises on our rest days all help too.
Take the runs gently, relax into them...enjoy this great journey.
I have gone from running 10K at a reasonable pace, back to Week 1 Run 1.. ( 4 weeks on the injury couch with a trapped sciatic nerve), and I am loving the fact that I am having to go even slower than usual!!!
My last post says it all really!

I was the original Grey Snail, yet after Graduating in 2015, I am still running ( bar injury), three times a week and am now officially a Yellow striped snail
Just as OlderThanDirt says, run.... snails rock... and watching the seasons change is part of the joy, ( at least for me).
Keep it slow and steady and you will be amazed where you get to

If you can breathe freely and easily then you can attempt to increase your pace, so long as the breathing stays stable, so maybe up your pace towards the end of the workout if you want to. It is not necessary.
