Running v Walking: The Truth about getting Fit... - Couch to 5K
Running v Walking
I always get sore knees after a long walk, but was always surprised that it wasnβt the case with running. Watching this I know why. Itβs ace
I have gone long walks for many years now with no problem regarding my knees, it's only recently that I have tried to run a bit after finding C25K here on the Internet, it's when I started running, even for 1 or 2 minutes that I got a little pain in my knees, not used to running, I will start the C25K program again in the Spring.
Bless him. Shame they havenβt explained why runners get high but not necessarily other types of exercise. I certainly donβt feel as good doing other things. And Iβve never been addicted to any exercise the way I am with running
Ferret down trouser leg used to get me exercising physically and mentally put me in a different state of awareness..
Good old country sport, that.
That is a good point and a very interesting question. I do get a buzz running and feel energised and relaxed afterwards; however the real 'highs' I've known came while long distance hiking-especially in hills ( I come over all John Denver). I get a different sensation while swimming distance...a very deep and profound peace, so peaceful in fact that I am almost in a trance while chugging along. I wonder if I will experience similar when my running distances increase beyond my current 8 k max? I hope so.
I do find the psychological aspects of exercise fascinating.
Haha,I just posted about that too.bit daunting that all we really need to stay fit is 2 minutes a week on an exercise bike.
But I've just bought the lycra and haven't got room nor money for the fancy bike in its space age container...
You just get out and show off that Lycra πββοΈ
Well, quite, we need to be put running to show off the lycra!
at the moment I get a much bigger high dancing than running. I can dance all night which I cant do with running!
