Hi I’m a newbie, just completed my first run to the dulcet tones of Micheal Johnson talking me through it. The eight minutes of running felt like fifty but I didn’t give up. I used to run about six years ago but due to illness and a lot of weight gain I gave up. Last January 17 I decided enough was enough so joined a slimming group and started researching nutrition until I found what was right for me! Thirteen months on I’ve lost 7st 5lb, been gyming it since November but badly wanted to run again so today I downloaded the app and off I went. After thirty minutes I resembled across between a Belisha beacon and a beef tomato! 😜. But I completed it and now look forward too Thursday for round two. If you are still reading thanks ha! Sorry for waffling x

Definitely will do, thanks.. just need to take small steps and patience which I don’t really possess ha x

Well done on your weight loss and for stating the programme. Starting is often the most difficult step. Yes it's hard, but you did it and waffling is fine too :)

Ah, the honey voiced Mr Johnson - good choice. I too was a belisha beacon the first week, but as youve run before, you will know that’s only a temporary state of affairs and that you will soon gain running fitness. And well done for the weight loss, that’s incredible!

Well done to you! Michael Johnson got me off the couch too (great voice)- there's something about him telling you that you're doing really well that makes it all seem worthwhile. Good luck with it :-)
